An exciting location, under the 4000m high Bernina mountain. Historical hut, where you can have a very nice stay.
Classic mountain hut in a great location
1.30 hrs going up from Musella refuge and 1 hr going down, even tho signs say 2.20 hrs.
Great walk btw and amazing viewpoint at the refuge.
Refuge well located for different excursions, good food, rooms in the standard of CAI refuges with different options, the staff is very kind, they made me feel at home.
INFO for visitors... if you are not used to going to refuges, especially those in the high mountains, this is not a place for you. You take your own waste home, the opening hours are not those of a hotel and respect for others is fundamental.
Go there! You'll be amazed.
Refuge in a wonderful position with a view of the highest mountains of Valmalenco and its glaciers. The climb is very long (in my opinion the 3 hours to go up from Campo Moro are not true also because it is not possible that the descent is always 3 hours, usually there is always a difference of at least 1 hour). Apart from the length and the difference in altitude, the path to get there is not dangerous. We had lunch in the room overlooking the glacier.
high mountain refuge, a treasure chest of first-rate mountaineering treasures. enchanting position in front of the Testata di Valmalenco and the underlying Scescen Valley. Excellent hospitality and courtesy as well as the cuisine. impeccable cleanliness of the rooms. absence of anthropic, acoustic and light pollution. strongly recommended for those who wish to live an all-encompassing experience with the "real" mountains.

As always fantastic. Climbed from Campo Moro in about 3 hours and 30 minutes. About 900m of altitude difference but the effort is rewarded by the splendid view and position in the middle of the Bernina glaciers.
We called the day before and booked the pizzoccheri, fantastic!
